April 10, 2013 - Wind, Wind, Wind!

At least I got outside to look at the sunset...

We had a very windy day today.  I had expected to spend some time in the garden, but that didn't happen, as the wind kicked up fairly early in the morning.  By the time I joined a friend for coffee, it was pushing my car all over the road, and was strong enough the shove me around a bit, too.  So...no great photos...but no shortage of beauty.  My friend has a lovely ornamental almond tree in flower, and her tulips look absolutely stunning!  Some of her gound covers are in bloom, as well...and lots and lots of phlox, which has long been a favorite of mine.

 

I was greatly disappointed not to get a ticket for the trips to Rattlesnake Mountain that were being given out this a.m.  That said, my disappointment was enough to get my husband on the phone, and to discover some alternative places to see beautiful wildflowers..,.more or less locally.  I shall settle for that, and look forward to the day when I can see the contours of the land from the crest of Rattlesnake Mountain.
